Nmbr CVertr - More than just a calculator!

Nmbr CVertr A new application, offered now as Freeware: Nmbr CVertr is a multi-purpose converter and calculator. Built to allow you to get multiple conversions with one entry, do math in decimal, hex, octal, or binary number systems, even do interest rate comparisons and build a loan amortization table.

If you bounce around the internet, you will likely find most of the functions that Nmbr CVertr has installed, but this program puts them all at your fingertips, without going on-line. There are a few pluses with Nmbr Cvertr: Select the system you are using to enter (for instance, Decimal for converting from one base to another, or Feet for measurement conversions), and you see all the alternative systems at once. No need to re-enter, or find a new converter. When working with the calculator, you get to choose number base, and we added a feature that seems to have disappeared from digital calculators - the Audit Tape. Nmbr CVertr lets you save and/or print your calculations, giving you a record for future use or verification.

This is version 1.00 of Nmbr CVertr. We've done all the debugging we can think of and it's now ready for you to use. The easiest way to get the program is use the link below. It will offer you a download of the "zip" file with the program, the user manual and a default configuration file. (By the way, you can always change things through "Setup" to be configured for the way you like to work.)

As always, we'd love to hear from anyone who uses this program. We are especially interested in comments and suggestions for improvement.

Right now, Nmbr CVertr only runs on Windows (best with Windows10). We are going through a major learning curve and will try to port it to both Android and IOS operating systems. We've got the tools to do it. Now comes the hard part - figuring out how to use them.

We offer 2 identical versions. The only difference is one is optimized for 32 bit processors (and should run on almost any Windows based PC around today); the other is compiled for 64 bit processors, and will not run on a 32-bit machine. Both are contained in the zip file NmbrCVertr_V1.zip.

If you are not sure which should, you can check Windows under Settings/About. There you will find your Windows version, as well as the type processor you are running. Either way, the 32 bit version should work on any current Windows installation.

As with PhoneLogger, NmbrCVerter also has a full user manual (here) for you to review.

Download NmbrCVerter

NmbrCVertr is provided as a .zip file which contains all the necessary files to get you up and running. Both versions, along with a default configuration file, user manual, and "about" file are in the package.

There are a few notes about our download. The most important one is that, as a hobby-based project, I can't afford to register for a developers certificate. Windows may get a little fussy about downloading and using a program from the Internet. We have provided a checksum verification for the download. Alternately, you can contact Mr. Rutter directly (arutter@tecxl.com) to arrange for a physical copy (either a chip or CD). The source code is also available on request. Please check the Read Me (ReadMeNC-v1.txt) file. It provides download and install information.

In order to be sure that the file you have is real and unaltered we did get an MD5 checksum for the zipped files. The checksums is:
Unopened NmbrCVertr_V1.zip folder MD5 A43226F83BF033D9C6B805ED1E7ECDBB

You can use any MD5 checksum generator to verify the download. The service I used to create them is free and located at http://onlinemd5.com/.

PhoneLogger3 Software!

PhoneLogger A small and simple software package for logging telephone calls is now available. Written by Lex Rutter it is offered as "Freeware" and may be downloaded here. The updated version (3.0) is now on-line, has several new features as well as bug-fixes from the 1.x version, and is recompiled with Windows10 in mind. There are two configurations available:

PhoneLog3.exe for 32 bit versions of Windows
and
PhoneLog3.exe for 64 bit versions of Windows

Download the version needed for your operating system and when prompted save the file. Since we don't make any changes to your system you can then just go to that directory to use the program. Of course we suggest you read the manual and read-me-first.txt files first to see what's going on.

Download PhoneLogger

PhoneLogger is provided as a .zip file which contains all the necessary files to get you up and running. The 32 Bit version should run on most Windows systems from WindowsXP onward. If you have a 32 Bit version of Windows 7 or later then this is the version you need. Note that this version will also run on the 64 Bit operating system.

Clicking one of the buttons will allow you to save the associated .zip folder. Inside the folder will be PhoneLog3.exe, config.exe, a user manual, and a file called ReadMe-FIRST.txt The ReadMe file has some additional notes about installation. The user manual is also in the folder (Click here to see the user manual.)

Windows 10 and any other 64 Bit version of the operating system can use the 64 Bit version of PhoneLogger. The two versions are the same, complied from the same source-code. The 64 Bit version is simply optimized for the newer operating system.

Please click one of the "Download" Buttons to get a copy.

There are a few important notes on running the program. First please realize that this is Freeware and open for use by individuals as well as businesses and government agencies. Since it is free (and we don't collect any information associated with the download or use of the program) we have not applied for a developer’s internet certificate. When you run the program your system should warn you that the certificate cannot be verified and give you a chance to run or abort. That deficiency may be corrected one day, providing we find a reasonable way to pay for it.

In order to be sure that the file you have is real and unaltered we did get an MD5 checksum for the zipped files. Those checksums for version 3.0 are:
Unopened PL64.zip folder MD5 checksum: 224AF4172EA8AC6A1D06634D8C6EECEE
Unopened PL32.zip folder MD5 checksum: 6A60FFBF014BDD33CABAD22ED67190E9

You can use any MD5 checksum generator to verify the download.
The service I used to create them is free and located at http://onlinemd5.com/.

Some final thoughts:

We do not collect information, either in the download process or while you use the program. If you would like to make comments, be notified of changes and updates, or report bugs in the program please consider dropping us a note. The best address for general discussion is to arutter@tecxl.com. Since this is not a full-time business, we will respond, it just may not be immediately.

If you are software-inclined the source code is also available. To get that you will need to drop Lex a note and request it.

While this is indeed Freeware and the source code is available, the complier we used does require the package to be copyrighted. The support files (mostly .dll files plus a few others) are not part of the source package and covered by separate restrictions. They are all covered in the user manual.

Thanks for your interest and we hope you get good use from the software.
